The Mother's India Fragrances
Our Mother's India Fragrances are special: based on traditional Indian Fragrances, so much stronger than our other incense, and made with the very best ingredients. They set a new standard for high quality incense, and we invite you to try.
It is not for nothing that our line of India Fragrances has been called 'the the finest short line in all of Indian incense today' and 'just works of art on every level' by the knowledgeable noses at the ORS incense blog.
The Mother's India Fragrances are made with a wide range of aromatic gums, resins, woodpowders, essential oils and perfumes. The key ingredient however, is a native Indian resin called Halmaddi (also known as Mattipal).
Halmaddi is a soft, gum like resin obtained from the Ailanthus Malabarica tree by making incisions in the bark. Halmaddi is treacle-like when it is fresh and hardens to a brittle resin with a strong balsamic odour. When mixed with honey, its balsamic fragrance is sweetened further. The combination of halmaddi and honey creates basis for the sweet, long burning incense that is The Mother's India Fragrances.
There are now five Mother's India Fragrances. All are available as full length sticks, cones and ministicks:
Shanti Nag Champa
Shanti Nag Champa is based on the rich and sweet traditional temple incense of India, anchored in the wonderful aroma of the sweet floral bouquet of the Champa flower (Michelia Champaca). With a woody base and blended beautifully with rose and jasmine, it creates an atmosphere for prayer and meditation.
Sattva
Sattva is a bold and confident fragrance, strong and well balanced, a fragrance of purity, cleansing and very well suited for meditation.
It is a fresh and fragrant blend of many layers of Jasmine, the king of flowers, before it settles down to its core of sweetness. Spicy green notes of oriental resins create an aura of freshness and liveliness. The strong and rich flower fragrance of Ylang Ylang, sweet and velvety vanilla, and the subtle woody note of Cedar give a sweet and powdery dry down to this fragrance.

The latest addition to our India Fragrances range is an 'aromatic nirvana' of cassia, vanilla and amber. It is well balanced with opening notes of sweet and soft vanilla, followed by richer notes of the Indian temple fragrance Champa, and supported by intense amberlike base notes, sweet and spicy cassia and warm balsams. True to its name, it is perfectly suited for meditation and contemplation.
